1986: Cyanide Destruct Systems Inc. was established by Herbert L. Robey in Guelph, Ontario to design and manufacture Cyanide Waste Treatment equipment.
1992: CDS Environmental established to provide customers with the additional service of having their waste treated by CDS in Markham, Ontario. Precious metal recovery service also established to offer customers full refining solutions, circuit boards, and gold/silver plated scrap.
1997: CDS Environmental relocates to a brand new, state of the art waste treatment plant in Barrie, Ontario. Facility remains the only dedicated cyanide waste treatment plant in the world.
2005: Through a joint venture with Envirite (now EQ), CDE Refining is established in York, Pennsylvania to offer specialized precious metal recovery services to their American customers.
2007: The CDS Group acquires R.L. Components, a transformer manufacturer, in Toronto, Ontario.
2008: R.L. Components expands to new facility with 50% more manufacturing space. Adds full assembly to compliment winding capabilities.
2010: The CDS Group acquires Paul’s Plumbing & Heating, a full service new plumbing contractor, in Warman, Saskatchewan. Paul’s Plumbing is primarily involved in plumbing contracting within new home construction in the Saskatoon area.
2011: CDS Refining is established by the CDS Group in Toronto, Ontario to extend CDS’ precious metal recovery business to the consumer market.
2015: CDS Group divests of Paul’s Plumbing and Heating marking the first successful divestiture in the group’s history.
Present: The CDS Group continues to seek and evaluate new growth opportunities both strategically within their businesses as well as through external acquisition/investment.
